Liberty north registered approximately 2400 students. Is one of the top 5 largest schools in Missouri
Freshman class is 635 students, largest ever

Liberty continues to focus on Security for our students

Just returned from tournament in Columbia where they did extremely well

Have been busy with a couple tournaments and a few away games

Took 4th in Lees Summit meet
A couple boys are making state considerations

Won every tournament except the first one of the season

Sage Wilde finished 1st, broke school record at 5k

Staff Conference Dinner for staff on October 17th
Eagle Club provides dinner on Monday night
Can provide a main dish, paper goods
Ask parents to contribute sides dishes, desserts, or money
Sign up Genius will be sent out for volunteers

Membership update:
Way up from last year, up 75% since last year
Target 700 members
One last push to get to 700
$100 gift certificate raffle at North Nation
As first push of membership winds down is now looking a head towards 2023/2024 school year
Membership punch cards and banners can be retrieved after the meeting
Unclaimed punch cards and banners can be retrieved from the school office
VP of Athletics
Lots of things going on, answering lots of questions about Athletics and Eagle Club
Working with Lane to help get parent and organizations questions answered
Realize that Liberty North has a lot going on and it takes time to respond to everyone
Track & Field
Kick off an All Weather Javelin Runway Project
Private Fundraiser: Needs to raise $35,000
Go Fund Me account setup
Coach Perk is working on communicating the fundraiser
Women's Swim and Dive
Team is using old warm ups and are looking for something more modern
Has worked with Lane to get funding. Lane announced Funding was approved and order going out this week.
Football games are a huge draw for Liberty North
Huge shoutout to Liberty North's Staff and Administration for working all day and then through the night to cover Football.
Custodians continue to work after everyone has left to clean up the stadium.

Concessions and Fundraising
Winter Concession sign-ups will occur at October meeting
Helpful reminders for clubs working concessions:
At end of the week there will be a Closing Procedures book at the Yard and Fieldhouse
Encourage group to pay attention to the emails that are going out to parent reps. Double check arrival times
A few events people looked at the Event start time, not the arrival time. Concessions need to be open at start of the event.
Check that at least one person signed up has worked concessions previously. It helps to ensure things go smoothly.
Concessions are going really well. Football, Volleyball and Softball
Volunteers have been great
Clean up after event has been great
Treasurer:
Has been very busy. Helps to have all the information required for reimbursements submitted at once.
Deposits and Financial requests are picked up from the School office Monday/Tuesday and Friday.
Try to check 4 to 5 times a week
Plan on 2 week turn around for checks to be cut
If using a vendor, stay on top of invoices and turn in on a timely manner
New Business
Cheer is going to regionals September 24th
Band
8th graders are playing with Highschool band at Football game, along with flags
September 17th, Drumline is competing in a competition
September 24th, Band is marching in Fall Festival Parade
September 24th, Liberty and Liberty North Marching Bands will both do field shows at Liberty North for comments from outside judge
Band Fundraising:
Adults only event: Beer and Bourbon at the Boulevard is coming up

Student ran Food truck made debut Sept 29th
After the first game, the next game had a line waiting before the stand was fully setup.
Selling out every week by half time

Football currently undefeated with 2 games left in season
If North wins the last 2 games, we'll be #1 seed going into Districts
Women’s golf
Won District and conference title
Softball:
Record is 19 wins and 10 losses
Defeated oak park, last round of districts
District championship tomorrow, if win can host quarter finale
Swim:
Season is winding down
Completed at blue springs. 8 out of 19 firs places
Conference meet is at Lee's Summit
Tennis:
Season ended October 3rd

Season winding down with just 2 games left

Season starts October 30th with tryouts for both men and women's

Membership close to 700
Still encourages people to sign in on and create a membership
When in front of your groups, plug Eagle Club
Parent Teacher Conference meals:
Eagle Club is providing meal for Tuesday October 18th, Dr. Kurth is providing a meal for the other night.
Slots were created for people to donate to the cause
All slots have already been filled! Thank you all
Non-perishable donations to be dropped off the Friday before
Desserts need to provide servings for 12 people
Food donations can be store bought or home made
VP of Athletics:
Privat! Coaches reached out to make sure people know that students need to ensure privat accounts are updated.
Make sure that the physical on record hasn't expired.
VP of Arts:
Reflections program
National Arts enrichment program is going on locally and for the State
6 different categories such as Visual Arts, Music, etc.
The theme is "Show your voice"
Local deadline is in December (State of Missouri shortly after)
Visual arts will be collected at school

This past month the Choir had an amazing concert
Marching band competed over the weekend at Lees Summit West and got 2nd overall
Another Marching band competition this coming weekend in Cameron.
Orchestra has a concert tomorrow at Liberty North, 7pm.

Choir had 21 students make it to All District Choir
11 students eligible for All-State
Therapy Dog:
Jonnie starts Monday. Will be available at Liberty North to help provide comfort and help destress by providing free cuddles in exchange for pets.
Jonnie is a trained and certified Therapy dog.
Eagle Club has voted to approve a staff grant to Mrs. Lindsey of $500 to help cover the expenses that are required to be a certified therapy dog.

Liberty North Security Updates by Gary Majors
Gary is in charge of Liberty School district security
Worked for KCPD for many years before joining Liberty
Liberty School district’s security has been growing year over year.
9 years ago security personnel was only part time. Now full time staff, and always have someone in the building when students and teachers are in it.
Staffing includes:
Armed and unarmed personnel
In building and floating personnel
Most have previous police training and experience
Gary talked over safety measures that we as individuals can leverage:
Self awareness
Key part of keeping you and your family safe
Be aware of surroundings and a plan on what to do if something happens
Talk through the scenarios of the surroundings that you are in. Do it at any age.
Identify exits, identify how to handle
Programs and Initiatives to help with security
Ensuring all exterior exits remained locked
Visitors must be buzzed in and check in with office
Implementation of State of the Art cameras
3-4 times as many as Kansas City Schools
Leveraging multiple forms of communication for alerting of incidents

Social Media
Encouraging security personnel to build relationships with students
Students feel safe and will proactively voice concerns
Maintain a database of previous incidents, those involved, household issues, etc.
Gary then spent remainder of time answering questions

Talked through various scenarios on how communication would flow and how to get students home safely.

President:
Will have a bond overview for April vote discussed meeting in March
Staff Grants have been offered to North Staff
Request for funds outside of normal school funding
Reminders being sent out to get requests in by February meeting.

Currently working on processes to redefine responsibilities and improve turnarounds.
Currently turnaround on processing of financial request can take up to 30 days.
Please plan accordingly.

Sports Physicals
Done via Privit.
May have received notices that they may expire.
Coaches don’t have access to when physicals are required.
If physical expires, student can’t participate until it completes
Trainers:
Liberty North has great trainers. They are available during the day, and attend most after hour games.
When a child is hurt they should confer with the trainers.

Girls placed 8th at state
Volleyball: District Champs. 3rd at State

Melvin won 2 awards. If again, will be first 3rd
Sam Van Dyne was also an award winner
Boys Soccer: District Champs, Hosted State Quarter Finals.
Softball: Made it to district championships
Boys Swim. finished 20th at state
Tennis: Head coach retiring,

2023/2024 Eagle Club Officer Recruitment:
March meeting will be voting on Eagle Club Officers
Still looking for Concession Execs and volunteers
March meeting will have presenters on the upcoming school bonds
General Meeting Vote: Staff Grants
Each year Eagle Club has budgeted $3000 for Staff grants. This year there were 10 staff grant requests totaling $3700. The board proposes to the general meeting that the additional $700 should be extended to cover the request.
Eagle Club Executive board has reviewed and approved all request, and verified that the existing Eagle Club finances can cover the proposed $700.

Concessions:
There are 3 concession openings that haven’t been filled, these occur on Spring Break. Please reach out if your group would like to cover.

Winter Guard
is 2 competitions into Winter season in new competition level
Last week took 2nd place at competition
